Frequently Asked Questions
When will I receive my order?
Please allow up to 3 working days for processing your order (although I'm usually much quicker), and a further 3-5 working days for delivery. If your parcel is being delivered to a remote area such as the Highlands, Islands of Scotland or Isle of Man it may take up to 7 working days.
I am currently using MyHermes for baskets, who deliver Monday to Friday, 8am - 8pm and Saturdays, 8am - 5pm. You will be able to track your parcel with a number emailed to you once your order has been dispatched.
Three attempts will be made to deliver your parcel and it can be left in a safe place or with a neighbour to ensure that your parcel reaches you. Just drop me an email if this is something you'd like me to pass on to the courier.
Mudcloth lavender sachets will be sent via Royal Mail - please allow up to three working days from date of dispatch to receive your order.
If you need your item in a hurry, please do get in contact by emailing me at email@example.com as I am often able to accommodate your requests. I can offer a speedier delivery option at an extra charge, should you need this.
I want to send an item as a gift - what services do you offer?
Please do drop me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org if the item you are ordering is a gift. I'm very happy to make a little gift note to put in with your order, at no extra cost and can gift wrap your basket for a small extra fee.
How will my order be packaged?
The baskets are shipped to you fully shaped. However, should you want to alter its shape, or flatten it for posting, please see the information below on quick and easy reshaping.
All packaging, where possible, is either recycled, recyclable or biodegradable. I use biodegradable jute twine, biodegradable packing tape and stationery made from recycled paper and elephant poo. Yes. You read that correctly. Care instructions are on a small leaflet inside an envelope in your parcel, along with contact information. The parcels may not look the prettiest, but they are as eco-friendly as possible, and reflect the sustainable nature of the materials used to make the baskets.
How do I reshape my basket?
Reshaping the baskets is very simple. Soak the basket (taking care not to wet the leather handle) for 30 seconds in water. Shake off the excess and then manipulate with your hands to achieve your desired shape. Leave to dry. It is important that the basket is soaked adequately to make the veta vera grass pliable. Attempting to shape whilst dry could damage the basket. You may see some dye come off in the water - do not be alarmed. This is normal and will not discolour the rest of the basket. Whilst wet, the basket may leave some dye residue on items it comes into contact with, so you may prefer to use an old towel to rest it on while shaping.
How do I care for my basket?
Due to their handcrafted nature, imperfections and blemishes may be present, but reflect their back-story and authenticity. The dying process means the colour of your basket will evolve over time. If you wish to maintain its colour, keep away from sources of bright light.
Keep basket away from all heaters, fires, flames, stoves, fireplaces, campfires or sources of heat.
Please note; it is important never to leave a baby or child alone with a basket, as they are not designed as toys. Due to their handmade nature, natural materials, natural and commercial dyes used, the baskets SHOULD NOT be put in the mouth. Regular inspection should be made to ensure no parts have developed sharp edges, or broken into smaller pieces (which could pose a choking hazard), or become damaged in another way.
We cannot guarantee that the basket does not pose a risk to children if used in an inadequate way. Therefore, ALWAYS supervise your child when playing with the basket.
Is there any way I can buy a basket in person?
I am planning a page to keep everyone up to date on any fairs I am selling at and also stores that stock my products. I do my best to photograph in natural daylight and ensure the photos reflect the appearance of the baskets. However, there will be slight differences due to the device screen you are using to view them. I'm always happy to respond by email should you have any queries regarding colours, so feel free to drop me an message by filling out the form on the Contact page.

Help - the basket I want is out of stock! Each basket is handmade and therefore unique. However, I am requesting certain colourways and patterns from the Weavers. Due to the dyeing process, no colour will ever be an extact match, but it should be pretty close. Therefore, if there was something you loved that sold out, just get in touch with me and let me know as I might have something similar coming in the next shipment and could email you a preview before I put stock online. The Natural Collection is something I am continually replenishing, so just drop me an email with the size you're interested in, and I can email you when they are in stock and reserve baskets for you.
